About 5-Ball

The 5-Ball punch is a vibrant party drink known for its citrus-forward flavor and eye-catching orange hue. This concoction combines a fifth of Triple Sec, a popular orange-flavored liqueur, with 2-3 packages of Orange Kool-Aid, creating a sweet and tangy base. Sugar is added to enhance the sweetness, balancing the tartness of the orange flavors. The simplicity of the ingredients makes it an accessible and easy-to-make choice for gatherings, appealing to those who enjoy a sweet, citrusy punch.

The origins of the 5-Ball punch are somewhat obscure, as it likely emerged from the tradition of mixing simple, widely available ingredients to create inexpensive and crowd-pleasing beverages at parties. Its name might derive from the use of a fifth (a common bottle size for spirits) as a key component, along with the vibrant, playful nature of the drink, reminiscent of a lively game or party atmosphere. Over time, it has become a staple in some social circles, particularly among those who appreciate fun, unpretentious party drinks with a nostalgic twist.

This punch or party drink is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Any Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
