About Applejack Manhattan

The Applejack Manhattan is a delightful twist on the classic Manhattan cocktail, incorporating the rich, robust flavors of apple brandy, also known as Applejack. This drink marries 2 ounces of apple brandy with 1/2 ounce of sweet vermouth, and a dash of orange bitters, creating a harmonious blend that is both sweet and slightly spicy. The apple brandy lends a warm, fruity depth, while the sweet vermouth adds a touch of herbal complexity. The orange bitters provide a subtle citrus note that complements the apple, making this cocktail a perfect choice for autumn evenings or any occasion that calls for a sophisticated, fruity drink.

The history of apple-based spirits in the United States dates back to colonial times, with Applejack playing a significant role in America's early drinking culture. Applejack itself has a storied past, being one of the first distilled spirits produced in the country. The Applejack Manhattan is a modern homage to the traditional Manhattan, showcasing the versatility of apple brandy. This cocktail reflects the evolution of American mixology, where local ingredients are celebrated and classic recipes are reimagined. It embodies a sense of nostalgia while offering a fresh take on a beloved favorite.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!
