Alcoholic Cocktail Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass 3 ingredients

Recipe

  • 1 oz Jagermeister
  • 1 oz Coffee Liqueur
  • 3 oz half-and-half

Instructions

Created by Michael Payne and Scott Gilliam of Austin Texas. We work on BMWs in the attempt to repair them. This drink is reminiscent of a motor failure known as a bad headgasket. The oil in an engine with a bad or "blown" headgasket looks like this substance.Fill glass half full of ice, then slowly pour one ounce of Coffee liquer, then one ounce of the Jagermeister, and finally three ounces of the half & half. Do not stir or shake.

About Bad Headgasket

The Bad Headgasket is a rich and indulgent cocktail that combines the bold flavors of Jagermeister, coffee liqueur, and half-and-half to create a creamy and invigorating drink. The herbal complexity of Jagermeister pairs beautifully with the sweet and robust coffee notes of the liqueur, while the half-and-half adds a smooth and luscious texture, making it a perfect choice for those who enjoy dessert-like cocktails. This drink offers a delightful balance of sweetness, creaminess, and a hint of herbal bitterness, making it an intriguing choice for cocktail enthusiasts.

The origins of the Bad Headgasket are somewhat obscure, as it is not one of the traditional or classic cocktails with a well-documented history. It likely emerged as part of the modern cocktail movement, where bartenders and enthusiasts experiment with diverse ingredients to create unique flavor profiles. The name "Bad Headgasket" evokes a playful nod to car mechanics, suggesting a drink that's both powerful and complex, much like the intricate workings under the hood of a vehicle. This cocktail is particularly suited for those who appreciate the bold flavors of Jagermeister and enjoy exploring new and inventive drinks.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
