About Bruces Puce

The Bruce's Puce shot is a visually striking and flavorful layered drink that combines the sweetness of grenadine, the rich depth of coffee liqueur, and the creamy texture of Irish cream liqueur. When crafted carefully, these ingredients form distinct layers, creating a visually appealing gradient from red to dark brown to cream. The drink offers a delightful blend of flavors that starts with the fruity and sugary notes of grenadine, transitions to the robust coffee taste, and finishes with the smoothness of Irish cream. This combination makes it a popular choice for those seeking a dessert-like shot with a bit of complexity.

The origins of the Bruce's Puce shot are somewhat obscure, like many layered shots that often emerge from bartenders' creative experiments. It's likely that the drink was named for its resemblance to hues of the reddish-brown color "puce," with "Bruce" possibly being a nod to a person or character known to the drink's creator. Over the years, the shot has gained popularity in bars and social gatherings, appreciated both for its taste and its eye-catching presentation. The drink’s layered nature and interesting flavor profile make it a fun and engaging choice for both bartenders and patrons alike.

This shot is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Shot Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
