Alcoholic Cocktail Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass 2 ingredients

Recipe

  • 1 oz Rum (Spiced)
  • 4 1/2 oz Soda (Diet Cola)

Instructions

"Friends and I invented this after we ran out of regular Soda (Cola) one night. Tried it and thats all we drink now... even at the bar. The higher amount of aspertame makes the liquor more potent and gets you drunk quicker, while tasting better at the same time. In Canada, if you're not drinking Beer you're drinking Rum and Cokes."Fill glass with ice, to the top. Drop one shot of C'mos Rum (Spiced)... fill in rest with Diet Soda (Cola). Tastes just like Vanilla Coke... works great.

About Captain On A Diet

The "Captain On A Diet" is a simple yet flavorful cocktail that combines the robust and aromatic essence of spiced rum with the refreshing taste of diet cola. It is essentially a variation of the classic Rum and Coke, but with a lighter twist due to the use of diet soda. The drink is often associated with a popular brand of spiced rum, which adds a warm mix of vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon notes to the beverage. The diet cola provides a crisp, effervescent contrast, making this cocktail a low-calorie option for those who enjoy a sweet, spirited drink without the extra sugar.

The origins of the "Captain On A Diet" are not well-documented, but it likely emerged as a modern adaptation of the traditional Rum and Coke, which dates back to the early 20th century in Cuba. The name reflects the choice of spiced rum and diet cola, combining the brand identity of the rum with the health-conscious appeal of diet soda. This drink is popular in social settings where a straightforward, enjoyable cocktail is preferred, offering a guilt-free indulgence with a touch of spice.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
