About Cement Kicker

The Cement Kicker is a bold and adventurous shot that combines the smoothness of Irish cream liqueur with the tangy bite of lime juice and the warmth of rum. The name "Cement Kicker" is inspired by the unique reaction that occurs when the lime juice interacts with the Irish cream, causing the mixture to curdle and thicken, creating a texture reminiscent of wet cement. This intriguing combination is not just about taste but also about the sensory experience, challenging both the adventurous and the curious.

The origins of the Cement Kicker, like many novelty shots, are somewhat obscure, often surfacing in college bars and parties where novelty and surprise are prized. It is a variation on the more well-known "Cement Mixer" shot, which traditionally combines Irish cream and lime juice. By adding rum to the mix, the Cement Kicker adds an extra layer of complexity and warmth, potentially softening the sharpness of the lime while enhancing the overall flavor profile. This drink is typically consumed quickly, both for the thrill and to minimize the effect of the texture change, making it a favorite among those looking for a daring drinking experience.

This shot is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Shot Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
