Recipe

  • 1/2 glass Energy Drink
  • 1/2 glass Honey Liqueur

Instructions

Michael Kowalick invented this drink after seeing the new movie Cloverfield on 1.18.08. He is obsessed with his Monster energy drinks, and decided to add my (Lauren Kowalick) favorite Liqueur to it, Barenjager. Because Barenjager is a Honey Liqueur (Honey comes from clovers) he lovingly in his drunkenness dubbed it "cloverfield" Fill shot glass to middle with monster. Fill the remaining space of the glass with Barenjager. Enjoy your cloverfield monster!

About Cloverfield Monster

The Cloverfield Monster is a vibrant and invigorating shot that combines the electrifying buzz of an energy drink with the smooth, sweet notes of honey liqueur. This dynamic duo creates a drink that's as bold in flavor as it is in presentation. The energy drink adds a fizzy, caffeinated punch, while the honey liqueur introduces a soothing sweetness, balancing the drink's overall profile. The resulting concoction is both energizing and delightful, making it a popular choice for party-goers looking to maintain their stamina while enjoying a unique taste experience.

The origins of the Cloverfield Monster are somewhat obscure, but its name likely draws inspiration from the mysterious and monstrous themes of the "Cloverfield" film series, suggesting a drink that's monstrous in its energy-boosting capabilities. It's a modern creation, reflecting the trend of combining energy drinks with various spirits to create cocktails that offer both a kick of caffeine and the mellowing effects of alcohol. The Cloverfield Monster is perfect for those who enjoy experimenting with flavors and want a drink that offers a thrilling jolt of energy with a sweet finish.

This shot is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Shot Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
