About Devils Advocate

The Devil's Advocate is a vibrant and tantalizing cocktail that combines a medley of flavors to create a truly enticing drink. The base of the cocktail is a shot of lemon-flavored rum, which lends a citrusy and slightly sweet undertone. This is complemented by a shot of triple sec, an orange-flavored liqueur that adds depth and complexity to the mix. The drink is further enhanced by the addition of 3/4 oz of sour mix, which provides a refreshing tartness that balances the sweetness of the other ingredients. A tablespoon of grenadine is included for its rich, pomegranate-like sweetness and its ability to impart a beautiful red hue. Finally, the cocktail is rounded off with 4 oz of cranberry juice, giving it a fruity finish and a pleasingly vibrant color.

The history of the Devil's Advocate cocktail is not well-documented, as is the case with many cocktails that emerge from the creative experimentation of bartenders. However, it is likely that the drink was inspired by the desire to create a balanced, fruit-forward cocktail with a touch of citrus and sweetness, making it an appealing choice for those who enjoy a complex yet refreshing beverage. The combination of rum, triple sec, and cranberry juice is a classic one, but the addition of sour mix and grenadine gives this cocktail its own unique character and flair. The name "Devil's Advocate" may suggest a drink that challenges the palate with its bold flavors and striking appearance.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!
