About Drunken Parrot

The Drunken Parrot is a vibrant and tropical cocktail that brings the essence of the Caribbean to any gathering. This lively concoction combines a trio of rums—pineapple, coconut, and spiced—to create a complex yet harmonious flavor profile. The rums are blended with a generous amount of orange-pineapple juice, adding a refreshing and fruity base that perfectly complements the spirituous notes. To sweeten the mix, powdered sugar is included, offering a smooth and balanced sweetness. A few drops of vanilla extract add a subtle depth and aromatic finish, rounding out this exotic drink.

The origins of the Drunken Parrot are somewhat mysterious, as is the case with many tiki-inspired cocktails. It likely emerged from the creative cocktail culture of the mid-20th century when bartenders were experimenting with new flavors and combinations to capture the spirit of tropical escapism. The drink’s playful name and colorful ingredients make it a favorite for themed parties and beachside gatherings, where its bold flavors can transport drinkers to a sun-soaked paradise with every sip. Whether enjoyed poolside or at a lively tiki bar, the Drunken Parrot is sure to delight with its rich, fruity, and slightly spicy notes.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Highball Glass, though any glass works!
