About Dutch summer

The Dutch Summer is a vibrant and refreshing cocktail that captures the essence of a sunny day. This cocktail combines the smoothness of vodka with the citrusy notes of orange liqueur and orange juice, creating a delightful harmony of flavors. The splash of blue curaçao not only adds a visually stunning azure hue but also imparts a subtle hint of orange flavor, enhancing the overall citrus profile. With its bright and inviting appearance, the Dutch Summer is perfect for sipping on a warm afternoon or at a festive gathering.

The origins of the Dutch Summer cocktail are somewhat obscure, but it is likely inspired by the lively and colorful spirit of the Netherlands, known for its vibrant tulip fields and festive atmosphere. The use of blue curaçao, a liqueur originally from the Caribbean island of Curaçao, adds an exotic touch to the drink, while the vodka and orange components provide a classic base. This cocktail embodies a sense of carefree enjoyment and relaxation, making it a favorite for those seeking a taste of summer regardless of the season.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Margarita Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
