About Fernet with Coke

Fernet with Coke, known as "Fernet con Coca" in its birthplace of Argentina, is a unique and invigorating cocktail that highlights the intense herbal notes of Fernet Branca. This Italian amaro, famous for its bold and bitter profile, is made with a secret blend of 27 herbs and spices, offering complex flavors that include mint, myrrh, and chamomile. When combined with the sweet, effervescent qualities of Coca-Cola, the result is a surprisingly balanced drink that tempers Fernet's bitterness with a touch of sweetness and carbonation. This combination creates a refreshing and distinctive drink, popular among those who appreciate bold flavors.

The origins of Fernet with Coke can be traced back to Argentina, where the drink has become a cultural staple. Fernet Branca was introduced to the country by Italian immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Over time, the locals embraced the spirit, and it gained widespread popularity. In the 1980s, the combination of Fernet and Coca-Cola emerged as a popular choice, particularly among young people and in social gatherings. Today, it is a beloved national drink in Argentina, often enjoyed as a symbol of camaraderie and a shared cultural experience.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!
