About Flaming Dr. Pepper (with Dr. Pepper)

The original Flaming Dr. Pepper is a curious and exciting cocktail known for its unique preparation and the surprising flavor that mimics the taste of Dr. Pepper soda, despite not containing any actual Dr. Pepper. This drink is composed of Amaretto liqueur, topped with a high-proof rum, and then set aflame. The flaming shot is then carefully dropped into a glass of beer or cola, which extinguishes the flame and creates a delightful effervescence. The resulting combination of flavors from the amaretto and cola emulates the taste of the classic Dr. Pepper soda, providing a memorable experience both in flavor and presentation. This version of the drink actually contains Dr. Pepper, instead of the standard beer.

The origins of the Flaming Dr. Pepper are somewhat murky, but it is believed to have been popularized in the late 20th century by college students and bar patrons seeking a thrilling and theatrical drinking experience. The drink became a staple in bars known for serving flaming cocktails and has since spread in popularity due to its intriguing method of preparation and the novelty of its flavor profile. Despite its name, the Flaming Dr. Pepper is more about the spectacle and the surprising taste resemblance than being associated with the actual Dr. Pepper beverage. As with all flaming drinks, it requires careful handling to ensure safety and enjoyment.

This shot is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Shot Glass, though any glass works!
