Instructions

This particular recipe is the brainchild of a slighty insane man named Dr Lyons. It became a good way for him to dispose of shoddy absinthe without pouring it down the drain.Mix ingredients in above order over a Sugar cube on an absinthe spoon, light the cube and when the flame dies immediately stir in the Sugar until it dissolves; serve.

About Green Fairy Blood

The Green Fairy Blood is a vivid cocktail that captures the allure and mystique of its star ingredient, absinthe, often referred to as "the green fairy." This potent concoction combines the herbal complexity of absinthe with the cooling minty notes of crème de menthe. Green Chartreuse, with its secret blend of over 130 herbs, adds a layer of depth and complexity, enhancing the drink's emerald hue. A touch of sugar balances the bitterness, while a splash of fresh water opens up the flavors, creating a harmonious blend that dances on the palate. The result is a drink that is both refreshing and intriguingly complex, making it a favorite for those who enjoy bold, herbal flavors.

The history of the Green Fairy Blood is not well-documented, but it draws inspiration from the storied past of its primary ingredients. Absinthe, known for its hallucinogenic reputation in the 19th and early 20th centuries, was a favorite among artists and writers in bohemian Paris. Meanwhile, Green Chartreuse is steeped in history, crafted by Carthusian monks in France since the 18th century. The combination of these elements in the Green Fairy Blood pays homage to a time when cocktails were as much about mystique and storytelling as they were about flavor. This drink serves as a modern tribute to the allure and legend of the "green fairy" herself.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!
