About Green Gables

The Green Gables cocktail is a refreshing and vibrant drink that combines a blend of fruity and tangy flavors. At its core, the drink features Pisang Ambon Liqueur, a bright green banana-flavored liqueur that originates from the Netherlands and adds an exotic tropical note. This is paired with vodka, which provides a neutral spirit base, allowing the liqueur's flavors to shine. The addition of freshly squeezed lemon juice introduces a zesty tartness, perfectly balancing the sweetness of the liqueur. Apple juice further enhances the fruity profile, lending a crisp and refreshing taste that complements the other ingredients. Finally, the drink is topped off with lemon-lime soda, adding a fizzy effervescence that makes it particularly refreshing, especially on a warm day.

The origins of the Green Gables cocktail are not widely documented, which adds a bit of mystery to its allure. The name itself may evoke images of lush greenery and idyllic landscapes, possibly drawing inspiration from the famous "Anne of Green Gables" novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery, though this connection is speculative. The drink's vibrant green color and refreshing taste make it a popular choice for those looking for a cocktail that is both visually appealing and deliciously satisfying. Over time, it has found its place in cocktail menus around the world, appreciated for its unique combination of flavors and its ability to transport drinkers to a tropical paradise with each sip.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Collins Glass, though any glass works!
