Instructions

This drink was created in August 2008 by Sc'Eric Horner of Fuji & Jade Garden Asian restaurant in State College, PA. While other versions of this drink certainly abound, this particular recipe was inspired by a bottle of Charbay Green Tea Vodka, given as a gift from two loyal (and adventurous) customers. It took two tries to get this recipe right... and another just to be sure. =) It is definitely worth noting that when using crystalized Ginger, this drink will mature even after it is served. So, sip it slowly!Combine ingredients with ice in cocktail shaker. Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with crystalized Ginger and/or Lemon twist.

About Green-tini (aka Green Tea-ni)

The Green-tini, also known as the Green Tea-ni, is a vibrant and refreshing cocktail that harmoniously blends the distinctive flavors of green tea, ginger, and citrus. This sophisticated drink features an intriguing mix of ingredients, starting with Charbay Green Tea Vodka, which provides a smooth and aromatic green tea base. Zen Green Tea Liqueur intensifies the tea flavor, adding a subtle sweetness and depth. The cocktail is elevated by the spicy warmth of Domaine de Canton Ginger-infused Cognac, while a splash of lemon-flavored vodka and a dash of Hangar One Buddha's Hand Vodka introduce a zesty citrus note that brightens the overall profile. Garnished with crystalized ginger and a twist of lemon, the Green-tini offers a refreshing and complex taste experience, perfect for those who appreciate the subtle interplay of flavors.

The origins of the Green-tini are not widely documented, but it likely emerged in the early 2000s when creative bartenders began experimenting with flavored vodkas and liqueurs to craft unique, modern cocktails. The drink reflects a trend towards incorporating unconventional ingredients like tea and ginger into classic cocktail formats, driven by a desire for innovative flavor combinations. The Green-tini has gained popularity among cocktail enthusiasts for its distinctive taste and its ability to offer a sophisticated twist on the traditional martini. Its appeal lies in its harmonious balance of sweet, spicy, and citrus notes, making it a delightful choice for those seeking something both familiar and exotic.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
