About Guinness Espresso Martini

The Guinness Espresso Martini is a sophisticated twist on the classic Espresso Martini, incorporating the rich, velvety flavors of Guinness beer. This cocktail combines the smoothness of vodka, often infused with vanilla for an added layer of complexity, with the deep, robust flavor of coffee liqueur and freshly brewed espresso or coffee. The addition of bitters provides a subtle depth, enhancing the overall complexity of the drink. The Guinness adds a creamy texture and a slightly bitter note that beautifully complements the sweetness of the liqueur and the sharpness of the coffee, creating a balanced and indulgent experience.

The origins of the Espresso Martini date back to the 1980s, credited to London bartender Dick Bradsell, who crafted the drink to satisfy a patron's request for something that would "wake her up and mess her up." The Guinness Espresso Martini is a modern evolution of this classic, combining the traditional elements with the unique flavors of Guinness to create a cocktail that's both refreshing and decadent. This inventive variation has gained popularity among cocktail enthusiasts who appreciate the fusion of beer and spirits with the timeless allure of coffee.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Coupe Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!

This was pretty good, but I didn’t have all the ingredients so had to make do with substitutes. The Guinness is a nice touch to the normal espresso martini! Also, only use one large ice cube, this will make sense because of the Guinness head foam. I used regular ice cubes and it trapped a lot of the foam in the shaker.
