About Homemade Ginger Beer

Homemade Ginger Beer is a zesty and effervescent soft drink that combines the spicy warmth of ginger with the tangy brightness of lime. This particular recipe uses fresh ginger root, which is peeled and crushed to release its intense flavor, alongside the juice and peel of small limes for a citrusy punch. Sugar is added to balance the spiciness and acidity, while yeast is used to naturally ferment the mixture, creating a fizzy and refreshing drink. The boiling water helps to infuse the flavors of the ginger and lime, and the fermentation process gives the ginger beer its characteristic carbonation.

Ginger beer has a storied history that dates back to the 18th century in England, where it was originally a fermented alcoholic beverage. Over time, the drink made its way across the Atlantic and became popular in the United States and other parts of the world. In its non-alcoholic form, ginger beer has become a beloved mixer for cocktails like the Moscow Mule, as well as a standalone refreshment. The homemade version captures the traditional essence of this classic drink, offering a delightful balance of spicy, sweet, and tangy flavors.

This soft drink or soda is non-alcoholic. Best served in a Any Glass, though any glass works!
