Share one in a review!Irish Coffee #2 is a delightful variation on the classic Irish coffee, which combines the rich flavors of coffee with the smooth and creamy taste of Irish cream liqueur. This version enhances the traditional recipe with the addition of half and half, creating a luxurious texture that perfectly complements the robust coffee. A touch of sugar is included to balance the bitterness and accentuate the sweetness of the liqueur. The result is a comforting and indulgent drink that's perfect for warming up on a chilly day or enjoying as an after-dinner treat.
The original Irish coffee was created in the 1940s by Joe Sheridan, a chef in Foynes, Ireland, who wanted to offer a warming beverage to transatlantic travelers. It gained international fame when Stanton Delaplane, a travel writer, introduced it to the Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco in the early 1950s. This version, Irish Coffee #2, takes inspiration from the classic but adds its own twist with Irish cream liqueur and half and half, offering a modern take on a beloved drink that continues to be enjoyed around the world.
This coffee, tea, or cocoa is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Cordial or Sherry Glass, though any glass works!
Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
