About Marys Delight

Mary's Delight is a sophisticated and elegant cocktail that showcases the harmonious blend of sweet vermouth, brandy, and a dash of orange bitters. The sweet vermouth provides a rich, aromatic foundation with herbal and slightly sweet notes, while the brandy adds depth with its smooth, fruity, and warming qualities. The dash of orange bitters enhances the drink with its bright, citrusy punch, bringing balance and complexity to this delightful concoction.

The origin of Mary's Delight is somewhat obscure, but it likely emerged during the golden age of cocktails in the early 20th century when experimentation with spirits and liqueurs flourished. This cocktail is reminiscent of classic drinks from the Prohibition era, where bartenders artfully combined available ingredients to create new and exciting flavors. Although not as widely known as other cocktails of its time, Mary's Delight remains a testament to the creativity and elegance of classic mixology.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
