Alcoholic Cocktail Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass 3 ingredients

Recipe

  • 3 oz Vodka (Vanilla)
  • 3 oz simple Syrup
  • 1 oz Fresh squeezed Lemon Juice

Instructions

"I accidentally invented these while making Key Lime Martinis. I ran out of Key Limes and had to run around the corner to our Meyer Lemon tree. Well, to my delight, they actually tasted smoother and richer. The same recipe will make the Key Lime Martini, simply by trading the Meyer Lemons for Key Limes."Combine ingredients, over ice, into a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously and then strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a paper thin slice of Meyer Lemon, floating on the top. These are DELICIOUS! They have a richness to them, due to the Vodka (Vanilla) and the Meyer Lemons, which are sweeter, smoother and richer than regular Lemons.

About Meyer Lemon Martini

The Meyer Lemon Martini is a delightful twist on the classic martini, offering a bright and refreshing flavor profile. This cocktail combines the smoothness of vanilla-infused vodka with the sweetness of simple syrup and the citrusy tang of freshly squeezed lemon juice. The use of Meyer lemons, which are less acidic and slightly sweeter than regular lemons, adds a unique aromatic quality and a hint of floral notes to the drink. The result is a well-balanced cocktail that is both sweet and tart, making it perfect for those who enjoy a sophisticated yet approachable beverage.

The martini itself has a storied history, often associated with elegance and sophistication. While the original martini dates back to the late 19th century and typically combines gin and vermouth, modern variations have expanded to include vodka and a variety of flavorings. The Meyer Lemon Martini is a contemporary adaptation, likely inspired by the popularity of flavored martinis in recent decades and the culinary trend of incorporating unique citrus varieties. This cocktail serves as a testament to the versatility of the martini and the endless possibilities for innovation within the realm of mixology.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!
