About Mid Air Collision

The Mid Air Collision is a layered shot that combines the rich, creamy, and nutty flavors of Irish Cream Liqueur, Amaretto Almond Liqueur, and Coffee Liqueur, with a bold splash of Rum to finish. The drink is known for its visually striking appearance due to the layering of different spirits, which creates a delightful contrast of colors and textures. The smooth, velvety Irish Cream provides a creamy base, while the Amaretto adds a sweet, nutty almond flavor. The Coffee Liqueur contributes a deep, roasted coffee essence, and the Rum adds a final kick, giving the shot a robust and balanced finish.

The origin of the Mid Air Collision shot is not well-documented, as is the case with many cocktail recipes, especially those that are often created spontaneously by bartenders experimenting with flavors. However, this particular concoction likely emerged from the late 20th-century trend of creating intricate, layered shots that are both visually appealing and flavorful. The name "Mid Air Collision" reflects the idea of different liqueurs and spirits coming together in a harmonious blend, much like a thrilling aerial display. This shot is a popular choice in bars and clubs where patrons seek both a flavorful experience and a bit of visual spectacle.

This shot is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Shot Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
