Alcoholic Cocktail Hurricane Glass 6 ingredients

Recipe

  • 1 oz Rum
  • 1/2 oz Melon Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz Coconut Rum
  • 1/4 oz Grenadine Syrup
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 splash Orange Juice

Instructions

Blaire Kubie and Courtney Collins, both longtime and very well known bartenders in the Florida area, created this drink in a salute to Mardi Gras before venturing to New Orleans in 2006 for the festivities. Fill a mixing tin with ice. Pour the Rum, Melon Liqueur, Coconut Rum, and Pineapple Juice into tin and shake. Pour contents into a hurricane glass. Top it with a splash of Orange Juice and float a swirl of Grenadine atop that. Garnish with an Orange and Cherry 'flag', and serve.

About Party Gras

The Party Gras is a vibrant and tropical cocktail that embodies the festive spirit of its name, reminiscent of Mardi Gras celebrations with its colorful and lively ingredients. This drink combines the smoothness of rum with the tropical sweetness of melon liqueur and coconut rum, creating a balanced and refreshing base. The addition of grenadine syrup not only adds a touch of sweetness but also gives the cocktail a beautiful layered effect, reminiscent of a sunset. The blend of pineapple juice provides a juicy, tropical flavor, while a splash of orange juice adds a citrusy zest, ensuring each sip is both refreshing and invigorating.

The origin of the Party Gras cocktail is not well-documented, but its ingredients suggest a creation inspired by tropical locales and festive gatherings. The use of rum and coconut hints at Caribbean influences, while the bright, fruity flavors and vibrant presentation make it ideal for celebrations and parties. Much like the Mardi Gras festival, this drink is all about joy, color, and indulgence, making it a popular choice for those looking to capture the essence of a carefree celebration in a glass.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Hurricane Glass, though any glass works!
