Alcoholic Shot Shot Glass 4 ingredients

Recipe

  • 5 ml Coffee Liqueur
  • 5 ml gomme Syrup
  • 5 ml Grenadine Syrup
  • 10 ml Blue Curacao

Instructions

"I got the idea for this shot early in 2006 after eating a Chocolate Orange during my shift behind bar. I thought of funky looking liquers to add, and came up with the Psychadelic Tiger. Its became quite popular in the bar I work in - the Polo Lounge in Glasgow, Scotland."First, put the Coffee Liqueur at the bottom of the shot-glass, then pour in the gomme Syrup. The gomme sinks to the bottom, then add a splash of Grenadine in the middle. It will sink through the Coffee Liqueur and create a lava-lamp style effect. Then add the Blue Curacau on top of the Coffee Liqueur.

About Psychadelic Tiger

The Psychedelic Tiger is a vibrant and visually striking shot that combines bold flavors and eye-catching colors. This layered drink is made with 5 ml of coffee liqueur, 5 ml of gomme syrup, 5 ml of grenadine syrup, and 10 ml of blue curaçao. Each ingredient adds its own unique flair: the coffee liqueur offers a rich, deep flavor; the gomme syrup provides smooth sweetness; the grenadine contributes a fruity, tart note; and the blue curaçao introduces a citrusy zest along with its iconic blue hue. When skillfully layered, the Psychedelic Tiger resembles a colorful, exotic creature, capturing the imagination with its vivid presentation.

The history of the Psychedelic Tiger is not well-documented, but it is likely a modern concoction created for its visual appeal and the playful experience it offers. The drink's name and appearance nod to the psychedelic era of the 1960s and 1970s, a time known for its embrace of vibrant colors and experimental art forms. The combination of ingredients reflects a trend in contemporary mixology that values both aesthetic and taste, making the Psychedelic Tiger a popular choice for adventurous drinkers looking to explore the world of creative cocktails.

This shot is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Shot Glass, though any glass works!
