About Saint Thomas Smile

The Saint Thomas Smile is a vibrant cocktail that brings a tropical flair to any gathering. This drink is a delightful blend of flavors, combining the rich, molasses-like sweetness of rum with the tartness of sweet and sour mix. The addition of Amaretto Almond Liqueur introduces a subtle nutty undertone, which complements the bright and citrusy notes of Triple Sec. Pineapple juice serves as the base, providing a refreshing and fruity backdrop that ties all the elements together, resulting in a cocktail that is both refreshing and complex.

The origins of the Saint Thomas Smile are somewhat obscure, as is often the case with tropical cocktails. Its name suggests a connection to Saint Thomas, one of the Virgin Islands, which is known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant cocktail culture. The drink likely draws inspiration from the island's affinity for rum and fruit-forward beverages. While not as famous as other tropical cocktails like the Mai Tai or Piña Colada, the Saint Thomas Smile offers a unique taste experience that captures the essence of island relaxation and enjoyment.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Highball Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
