About Scarlet Spritz

The Scarlet Spritz is a vibrant and aromatic cocktail that beautifully combines sweet, bitter, and herbal flavors. This drink features fresh strawberries, which lend a sweet and fruity note that pairs harmoniously with the bright bitterness of Aperol. Lillet, a French aperitif wine, adds a layer of complexity with its floral and citrus undertones, while the addition of bitters enhances the depth of flavor. Sparkling wine brings a refreshing effervescence, elevating the cocktail’s overall lightness and making it perfect for warm-weather sipping. A dash of absinthe or anise licorice liqueur adds a subtle anise aroma, giving the Scarlet Spritz its unique and intriguing finish.

The Scarlet Spritz, like many modern cocktails, draws inspiration from the classic Italian spritz, a cocktail traditionally made with a bitter liqueur, prosecco, and soda water. The use of Aperol, a staple in many spritz recipes, ties this drink to its Italian roots. However, the Scarlet Spritz distinguishes itself with the inclusion of strawberries and the aromatic complexity of absinthe or anise liqueur, creating a unique twist on the classic. This cocktail embodies the innovation and creativity found in contemporary mixology, offering a delightful sensory experience that appeals to both traditionalists and those seeking new and exciting flavors.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Coupe Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
