About Snowball #2

The Snowball #2 cocktail is a delightful and nostalgic drink that combines the creamy, custard-like texture of Advocaat with the refreshing fizz of lemon-lime soda. This cocktail is simple yet indulgent, with a rich, velvety mouthfeel from the Advocaat—a Dutch liqueur made from eggs, sugar, and brandy—balanced by the crisp effervescence of the soda. Served over ice, the Snowball #2 is a light and frothy beverage that can be enjoyed year-round but is particularly popular during the holiday season due to its festive appearance and flavor.

The Snowball cocktail has its roots in the UK, where it became particularly popular in the 1970s. Advocaat, the key ingredient, has been a favorite in Europe for centuries, originally crafted by Dutch settlers in the Caribbean. The Snowball's resurgence in popularity often coincides with the holiday season, as its sweet and creamy profile makes it a comforting and celebratory choice. While its classic version uses lemonade or lemon-lime soda, variations may include other sodas or even a splash of lime for added zest. The Snowball #2 is a testament to the timeless appeal of simple yet satisfying flavor combinations.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
