Jason Starkey-Bar manager/Head Bartender Jacks Saybrook Steak 286 Main St, Old Saybrook, CT 06475 We found these cute little single serving plum wines(50 ml, approx 2oz.) at a beverage show. Decided they were better than having large bottles plum Wine going bad. It also inspired the drink. One serving of plum Wine and a single serving bottle of prosecco. No waste!Pour plum Wine into flute. Add prosecco to fill glass. If plum Wine includes marinated plum, use for garnish.WARNING: plums contain pits! Otherwise, garnish wit fresh plum

About Sparlking Plum

The Sparkling Plum is a delightful cocktail that marries the unique flavors of Coya Umeshu plum wine with the effervescence of Brut sparkling wine. This drink offers a sophisticated twist on traditional sparkling wine cocktails, bringing a touch of Japanese elegance to the table. The rich, fruity sweetness of the Umeshu, a traditional Japanese plum liqueur, is perfectly balanced by the crisp, dry notes of the Brut. This combination creates a refreshing and aromatic cocktail that is both vibrant and subtly complex, making it an ideal choice for celebrations or sophisticated gatherings.

The origins of the Sparkling Plum cocktail can be traced back to the growing popularity of Umeshu outside of Japan. As the world became more fascinated with Japanese cuisine and beverages, bartenders began experimenting with Umeshu in various cocktails. The addition of sparkling wine to Umeshu was a natural evolution, as it enhanced the drink's celebratory nature while maintaining its unique cultural essence. Today, the Sparkling Plum is enjoyed by those who appreciate a blend of traditional Japanese flavors with a modern twist, offering a refreshing and elegant experience in every sip.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Champagne Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
