About Stanley Steamer

The Stanley Steamer is a rich and indulgent coffee-based cocktail that combines a range of flavors to create a luxurious and warming beverage. This drink features a blend of coffee liqueur, Irish cream liqueur, and cognac, each contributing its own distinct character to the mix. The coffee liqueur, Tia Maria, adds a sweet and aromatic coffee flavor, while the Irish cream, Carolans, offers a creamy, smooth texture with hints of chocolate and vanilla. The cognac, such as Remy Martin, provides depth and sophistication with its rich, fruity notes. To top it off, a dash of orange liqueur, Grand Marnier, introduces a subtle citrusy twist that enhances the overall profile of the drink. Served with freshly brewed coffee and finished with a generous dollop of whipped cream, the Stanley Steamer is a perfect choice for those seeking a cozy and flavorful coffee experience.

The history of the Stanley Steamer is not well-documented, but it likely draws inspiration from the tradition of Irish coffee, which combines whiskey, coffee, sugar, and cream. The addition of various liqueurs and cognac elevates the drink to a more sophisticated level, making it a popular choice for special occasions or as an after-dinner treat. Its name, reminiscent of the early 20th-century steam-powered automobiles, suggests a nod to classic style and innovation, much like the drink itself. Regardless of its origins, the Stanley Steamer continues to delight with its harmonious blend of flavors and comforting warmth.

This coffee, tea, or cocoa is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Beer Mug or Pilsner Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
