Alcoholic Shot Highball Glass 3 ingredients

Recipe

  • 1 oz Vodka (Vanilla)
  • 1 oz Chocolate Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz Blue Curacao

Instructions

This shot is obviously for Carolina fans and was created on a fun evening at Cafe Caribe in Greenville, NC after Duke lost to Carolina (03/04/06). Oh what a fun night. This shot comes out more of a Carolina Blue than the more common carolina Blue kamikazi. It happens to be very tasty too.Shake ingredients over ice, strain into a shooter glass. Add Blue Curacao slowly until the appropriate color is reached. You may need to add a little, shake, pour some to see the color, and then add more. A small amount of Cream can be added if the shot is too Blue.

About Tarheel shot

The Tarheel Shot is a vibrant and flavorful cocktail that combines the sweet and creamy notes of vanilla vodka and chocolate liqueur with the citrusy and visually striking blue curacao. This shot is known for its eye-catching blue hue, reminiscent of the colors associated with the University of North Carolina, often referred to by the nickname "Tar Heel." The combination of ingredients creates a layered taste experience, beginning with the smoothness of vanilla and chocolate, followed by a hint of orange from the blue curacao.

The origins of the Tarheel Shot are not extensively documented, but like many colorful and themed cocktails, it likely emerged from a culture of mixology that enjoys crafting drinks that pay homage to regional pride or university spirit. The name itself suggests a connection to North Carolina, specifically the University of North Carolina, whose sports teams are known as the Tar Heels. This shot is a popular choice at parties and gatherings, particularly among fans and alumni of the university, and it serves as a fun and spirited way to celebrate school pride or simply enjoy a sweet and delightful drink.

This shot is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Highball Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
