  • 3 oz Orange Juice

Created by Olivier Gosselin, after traveling the world and bringing back absynth from Tchech Rep. The original uses a special kind of Rum (Gold) from Tahiti, slittly aromatized with Vanilla. Use Orange Juice with pulp so that it really give the drinks a "swamp" look.Pour the Absynth and Orange Juice in a shaker, shake for 6 sec, put in the glasse and add the tonic, plus a dash of gold rhum. Should give a greenish cocktail, the Toadpole.

About Toadpole (Nenuphar)

The Toadpole, also known as Nenuphar, is a cocktail that combines the mystique of absinthe with the refreshing zest of orange juice and lemon-lime soda. This intriguing drink features a base of 1 oz of absinthe, known for its herbal and anise-flavored profile, which lends a unique depth and complexity to the cocktail. The 3 oz of orange juice adds a bright, citrusy sweetness, perfectly balancing the boldness of the absinthe. To enhance the effervescence and bring a crisp, refreshing quality, 3 oz of lemon-lime soda is included. A dash of gold rum finishes the blend, adding a hint of warmth and richness that rounds out the flavors.

The Toadpole cocktail's name hints at its playful and whimsical nature, much like its ingredients' vibrant interaction. While not as widely known as classic cocktails, the Toadpole offers an adventurous option for those looking to explore beyond the usual drink menu. Its combination of absinthe and citrus elements reflects a modern twist on traditional absinthe cocktails, which have a storied history dating back to the 19th century. This drink is perfect for those who appreciate experimenting with bold flavors and enjoy the interplay between sweet, herbal, and effervescent notes.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Highball Glass, though any glass works!
