Recipe

  • 2.5-3 oz Vodka (Blueberry)
  • 10 oz Lemonade
  • 1 splash Soda (Lemon Lime)
  • 1 splash Grenadine Syrup

Instructions

Whitney Hendrickson thought of this drink in Fishers Indiana one night just messing around with ingredients. Her brother, boyfriend, and sister-in-law liked it so much they started calling it the whitini and have been drinking it ever since. Pour the shots of Stoli Blueberry into the glass, and then fill it almost to the top with Lemonade. Top it off with a splash of Soda (Lemon Lime) and Cherry Grenadine. Tumble and serve. (Can be served with ice...better cold)

About whitini

The Whitini is a refreshing cocktail that combines the crispness of vodka with the tangy sweetness of lemonade and the fizzy zest of lemon-lime soda. The drink's core is built around 2.5 to 3 ounces of blueberry vodka, which imparts a subtle fruitiness that pairs beautifully with the 10 ounces of lemonade, creating a harmonious blend of tart and sweet flavors. A splash of lemon-lime soda adds effervescence, lightening the cocktail and giving it a playful, bubbly texture. The final touch is a splash of grenadine syrup, which not only adds a hint of pomegranate sweetness but also gives the drink a vibrant, appealing hue.

The origins of the Whitini are not well-documented, but it likely emerged in the mid-2000s during a period when flavored vodkas and creative martini-style cocktails gained popularity. This drink captures the essence of summer with its bright, refreshing taste, making it a perfect choice for casual gatherings or warm-weather parties. Its simplicity and the use of readily available ingredients make it an easy favorite for both novice and experienced mixologists looking to serve something fun and flavorful.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Beer Mug or Pilsner Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
