Recipe

  • 50 ml Vodka
  • 2 small Oranges
  • 25 ml Chocolate Liqueur
  • 4 strawberries
  • 25 ml Orange Liqueur

Instructions

The name is based on its place of origin, Tramps Nightclub - Worcester. "As far as I know there is no cocktail of similar flavour. I serve it in the bar I work at to regular praise." Take 4-5 strawberries and crush in a mixer, add the Vodka, cointreau, and Chocolate Liqueur, preferably bols Creme de cacau. Take 2 small Oranges and chop into quarters, add these to the mixer and crush, leave the rinds on. (these can be substituted for Orange Juice but make sure its a full bodied Juice not a cheap supermarket brand.) Shake these together with ice and serve in a collins glass.

About Worcester Tramp

The Worcester Tramp is a vibrant and fruity cocktail that brings together a delightful mix of flavors. With a base of 50 ml vodka, it harnesses the bright, citrusy essence of two small oranges, amplified by the rich depth of 25 ml chocolate liqueur and the sweet, tangy notes of four fresh strawberries. This combination is elegantly rounded off with 25 ml of orange liqueur, providing an extra layer of citrus complexity. The result is a refreshing and indulgent drink that balances fruit and chocolate flavors, making it a unique choice for those who enjoy a playful twist on a classic cocktail.

The origins of the Worcester Tramp are somewhat shrouded in mystery, as is often the case with many creative cocktail inventions. It likely emerged from the modern mixology movement, where bartenders and enthusiasts experiment with unconventional ingredient pairings to craft novel experiences for the palate. While it may not have the storied history of some classic cocktails, the Worcester Tramp's intriguing blend of flavors has earned it a place in the hearts of those who appreciate a little adventure in their drink choices. Whether enjoyed as a standalone treat or as a conversation starter at a party, this cocktail embodies a spirit of fun and exploration.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Collins Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
