Alcoholic Shot Shot Glass 3 ingredients

Recipe

  • 1 shot Rum (Coconut)
  • 1 shot Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur
  • 1 shot Irish Cream Liqueur

Instructions

This was invented by my brother when he was in college. Its named for the Candy bar, which is crunchy Peanut Butter wrapped in caramelized Coconut. Although Frangelico is hazlenut, the mixture tastes just like a zagnut, if taken in one gulp. The Candy bar is rather obscure and hard to come by, BUT they are still manufactured. Shake the 3 over ice, and pour into 3 oz glass. Throw down. Don't sip.

About Zagnut

The Zagnut Shot is a delightful concoction that brings together the tropical, nutty, and creamy flavors of its three main ingredients. This cocktail shot is named after the Zagnut candy bar, which is known for its coconut and peanut butter flavor profile. While the shot itself doesn't include peanuts, the combination of coconut rum, Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur, and Irish Cream Liqueur creates a similarly indulgent experience. The coconut rum provides a sweet and tropical base, while the Frangelico adds a rich, nutty undertone, and the Irish Cream rounds it off with its smooth and creamy texture.

The origins of the Zagnut Shot are not well-documented, but it likely emerged as a playful nod to the candy bar, popular among bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts looking to replicate nostalgic flavors in liquid form. This shot is perfect for those who enjoy dessert-like drinks and want to experience a blend of flavors that dance between the tropical and the nutty. Whether served at a party or enjoyed as a treat for oneself, the Zagnut Shot is a testament to the creativity and fun that can be found in mixology.

This shot is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Shot Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
