About Zip Drive

The Zip Drive cocktail is a sophisticated blend of rich and vibrant flavors, perfect for those who appreciate a drink with depth and complexity. This cocktail combines the dark, molasses-like notes of Goslings Black Rum with the warming richness of brandy, creating a robust base. The addition of coffee liqueur introduces a subtle, roasted coffee flavor, enhancing the drink's depth. Orange liqueur brings a bright, citrusy sweetness, which is further complemented by the fresh, tangy zip of lemon juice. Simple syrup balances these flavors with a touch of sweetness, ensuring a smooth and harmonious finish.

The origin of the Zip Drive cocktail is not widely documented, suggesting it may be a more contemporary creation. The name likely pays homage to the fast-paced, modern lifestyle associated with technology, akin to the once-popular data storage device after which it is named. As with many modern cocktails, it showcases an inventive use of diverse ingredients to create a drink that is both familiar and intriguingly novel. Its blend of classic spirits with a hint of coffee and citrus makes it a delightful choice for cocktail enthusiasts looking to explore something new and exciting.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
