About Arawak Cup

The Arawak Cup is a vibrant and tropical cocktail that captures the essence of the Caribbean with its rich blend of flavors. This drink is a delightful mix of 2 oz of dark rum, which provides a deep and robust base, complemented by the exotic sweetness of 1/2 oz of passion fruit syrup. Adding to its tropical allure, 1/2 oz of pineapple juice enhances the fruity profile, while 1/2 oz of fresh lime juice introduces a zesty and refreshing tartness. The cocktail is rounded off with 1 teaspoon of orgeat syrup, which adds a nutty sweetness and smooth texture. Together, these ingredients create a harmonious balance of flavors, making the Arawak Cup a perfect choice for those seeking a taste of the tropics.

The Arawak Cup is named after the Arawak people, indigenous to the Caribbean, reflecting the cocktail’s cultural and geographical roots. While the exact origins of the drink are not well-documented, it likely emerged as a homage to the vibrant and diverse flavors found in Caribbean cuisine and culture. The drink’s use of passion fruit and pineapple, staples in the region, along with rum, which is historically linked to the Caribbean, make it a fitting tribute to this rich heritage. Whether enjoyed on a warm beach or at a cozy gathering, the Arawak Cup is a celebration of the Caribbean's spirit and its flavorful bounty.
