About Baltimore Zoo

The Baltimore Zoo is a vibrant and potent cocktail that offers a unique twist on a traditional mix of spirits. This drink combines equal parts of rum, vodka, and gin, creating a strong yet balanced alcoholic base. A splash of lemon-lime soda adds a refreshing citrusy effervescence, while a dash of grenadine introduces a hint of sweetness and a splash of color. The lemon squeeze enhances the overall citrus profile, tying the flavors together. What truly sets the Baltimore Zoo apart, however, is the unexpected addition of a shot of beer, which adds a malty depth and a frothy finish to this unconventional concoction.

The history of the Baltimore Zoo cocktail is somewhat obscure, as it doesn't have the widespread recognition of more classic cocktails. However, it's believed to have originated as a playful variation of the Long Island Iced Tea, another high-proof beverage with a medley of spirits. The Baltimore Zoo likely emerged from the creative cocktail culture prevalent in bars and clubs, where mixologists experiment with ingredients to craft memorable drinks. Its name suggests a nod to the lively, untamed character of the city of Baltimore, or perhaps the drink's own "wild" mixture of components. Though not a staple on every cocktail menu, the Baltimore Zoo remains a favorite for those seeking a bold and adventurous drinking experience.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Any Glass, though any glass works!
