About Blue Skyy

The Blue Skyy cocktail is a vibrant and refreshing mixed drink known for its striking azure hue, courtesy of the Blue Curacao. This liqueur, derived from the dried peel of the Laraha citrus fruit found on the island of Curaçao, provides a sweet and tangy orange flavor that pairs beautifully with the clean, neutral profile of vodka. The splash of cream adds a touch of smoothness and depth to the drink, mellowing the citrus notes and creating a harmonious balance of flavors. The result is a cocktail that is both visually captivating and delightfully smooth, perfect for a tropical-themed gathering or a relaxing evening.

The history of the Blue Skyy cocktail is not well-documented, but it likely draws inspiration from the classic Blue Lagoon cocktail, which also features vodka and Blue Curacao. As cocktails with vibrant colors became popular, mixologists began experimenting with various ingredients to create visually stunning and flavorful drinks. The addition of cream to the Blue Skyy distinguishes it from its predecessors, providing a creamy texture that sets it apart. The cocktail's name may be a nod to the famous SKYY vodka brand, further emphasizing the drink's vodka base. Whether enjoyed poolside or at a cocktail party, the Blue Skyy remains a delightful choice for those seeking a taste of the tropics.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!
