Instructions

Legend has it that the Bone Crusher (a close cousin of the Baltimore Zoo and the Long Island Iced Tea) was first concocted by Tom Baron at a T.G.I. Fridays in Washington D.C. just blocks from the White House in the early 90s. Its popularity is believed to come from the usage of Champagne or lack thereof which for many drinkers in their early to mid 20s perceived as a classy drink that down right tasted good. Although that T.G.I. Fridays is no longer there (you can find Tom Baron bartending @ Harrys on E street between 11th and 12th streets NW across from the ESPN Zone), the Bone Crusher is still a favorite for most inner-city socialites throughout the Metropolitan area and can be found in any Restaurant/Bar in and outside the Capital Beltway.Combine all ingredients (except Champagne) in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Pour into a tall glass, preferably a pint glass or large Brandy snifter with ice, and float the champagne on top with a squeeze of Lemon. Serve.

About Bone Crusher

The Bone Crusher is a potent cocktail that combines a variety of spirits for a powerful and flavorful punch. This vibrant drink includes equal parts of gin, vodka, triple sec, and rum, creating a robust base that is both diverse and balanced. The addition of grenadine syrup and lime juice adds a touch of sweetness and tartness, while the sweet and sour mix enhances the cocktail's refreshing quality. To top it off, a splash of champagne gives the Bone Crusher an effervescent finish, making it a lively choice for those who enjoy a complex and spirited beverage.

The origins of the Bone Crusher are not well-documented, but it is reminiscent of other multi-liquor cocktails that gained popularity in the late 20th century, such as the Long Island Iced Tea. These drinks are known for their strong yet harmonious blends of flavors and their ability to pack a punch. The Bone Crusher stands out with its unique addition of champagne, which adds a touch of elegance and a fizzy twist, making it a memorable option for cocktail enthusiasts looking for something bold and adventurous.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Snifter, though any glass works!
