About Chilled Chocolate Grasshopper

The Chilled Chocolate Grasshopper is a delightful and creamy cocktail that combines the refreshing taste of peppermint with rich chocolate flavors, offering a dessert-like experience in a glass. This indulgent drink includes Peppermint Schnapps for a minty kick, balanced by the sweetness of chocolate syrup and a touch of chocolate for depth. The addition of green food coloring gives it a vibrant hue reminiscent of its namesake insect, and two scoops of ice cream add a luscious, velvety texture, making it a perfect treat for those with a sweet tooth.

The Grasshopper cocktail itself has a storied history, believed to have originated in the French Quarter of New Orleans in the early 20th century. Traditionally, it combines crème de menthe, crème de cacao, and cream, creating a smooth and minty concoction. The Chilled Chocolate Grasshopper is a modern twist on this classic, elevating the dessert cocktail experience with the inclusion of ice cream and extra chocolate elements, making it an irresistible choice for after-dinner enjoyment or any special occasion.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
