About Chocolate Monkey

The Chocolate Monkey is a decadent and indulgent beverage that blurs the lines between a cocktail and a dessert. Crafted with a delightful mix of flavors, this drink combines the tropical sweetness of banana liqueur with the rich, velvety taste of crème de cacao. Its creamy base is formed by two generous scoops of chocolate ice cream, further enhanced by a drizzle of chocolate syrup and a splash of milk—either chocolate for extra indulgence or white milk for a more subtle balance. The drink is elegantly topped with a cloud of whipped cream, crowned with a bright red cherry, and garnished with a slice of banana, offering a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds.

The Chocolate Monkey is inspired by traditional milkshakes, but with a grown-up twist thanks to the addition of liqueurs. While the exact origins of this drink are not well-documented, it likely emerged as part of the trend of boozy milkshakes that gained popularity in the late 20th century. These concoctions were inventive responses to the desire for more playful, dessert-like cocktails. The Chocolate Monkey stands out for its harmonious blend of chocolate and banana flavors, making it a perennial favorite for those seeking a sweet treat with a kick. Whether enjoyed as a nightcap or a luxurious treat, the Chocolate Monkey is sure to satisfy any craving for something rich and creamy.

This milk, float or shake is non-alcoholic. Best served in a Parfait Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
