About Corpse Reviver No. 2

The Corpse Reviver No. 2 is one of a series of cocktails that were originally concocted as hangover cures, hence the name suggesting they could "revive" someone from the dead, or at least from the effects of overindulgence. It's known for its crisp and refreshing taste, with a balance of sweet, sour, and herbal flavors.

This cocktail is known for its complex, herbal flavor profile that's lightened by the citrus tang. The Lillet Blanc, a type of aromatized wine, brings a smooth, slightly sweet, and floral note, balancing the sharpness of the lemon and the strength of the gin. The dash of absinthe adds a layer of subtle anise flavor, making the drink more complex and intriguing.

The Corpse Reviver No. 2 is often enjoyed as a brunch cocktail or a pick-me-up after a long night, embodying the spirit of its name as a revitalizing drink. However, as with many such "revivers," moderation is advised; the cocktail's own creator famously noted that "four of these taken in swift succession will unrevive the corpse again."

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
