About Dead Rabbit Irish Coffee

The Dead Rabbit Irish Coffee is a modern take on the classic Irish Coffee, known for its balance of robust flavors and creamy texture. This cocktail features the warmth and boldness of Irish whiskey, blended with freshly brewed coffee or espresso to provide a rich and aromatic base. The addition of demerara syrup, made from raw cane sugar, adds a subtle depth and sweetness, enhancing the overall profile of the drink. Topped with a generous layer of lightly whipped heavy cream, it creates a luxurious mouthfeel and a pleasing contrast to the rich, dark coffee. A light dusting of nutmeg on top adds an aromatic spice, rounding out the flavors with a delightful finish.

The Dead Rabbit Irish Coffee hails from the acclaimed Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog in New York City, a bar renowned for its innovative cocktails and homage to Irish drinking culture. This particular rendition draws inspiration from the original Irish Coffee, which was invented in the 1940s by Joe Sheridan, a chef at Foynes Airport in Ireland. His creation was meant to warm the hearts of weary travelers, and it quickly became a beloved classic. The Dead Rabbit's version respects this tradition while introducing modern sophistication, making it a staple for cocktail enthusiasts who appreciate the fusion of historical and contemporary influences.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Coffee Mug, though any glass works!
