About Deer Killer

The Deer Killer cocktail is an intense and fiery concoction known for its bold combination of high-proof spirits and spicy elements. This potent mix includes a staggering 30 shots of Jägermeister, which provides a strong herbal undertone. The cocktail is further intensified with 10 ounces of Wild Turkey bourbon and 6 ounces of Jack Daniel's or another premium sour mash whiskey, contributing rich, oaky flavors. To add a bit of sweetness and complexity, a splash of butterscotch schnapps is included. The cocktail's signature heat comes from 4 tablespoons of hot sauce and a pint of Firewater (or Hot Damn), making it not only strong but also one of the spiciest drinks around.

The origin of the Deer Killer cocktail is somewhat shrouded in mystery, often thought to be a creation for those looking to challenge the limits of their palate and tolerance. It’s a drink that’s typically shared among friends, given its formidable strength and large volume. The name "Deer Killer" likely derives from its potency, suggesting that it could metaphorically "take down a deer" with its strong kick.
