About Elderflower Collins

The Elderflower Collins is a refreshing twist on the classic Tom Collins cocktail, which traditionally combines gin, lemon juice, sugar, and carbonated water. The addition of elderflower liqueur gives this version a unique floral aroma and a slightly sweet, delicate flavor that sets it apart from its predecessor. The drink combines the botanical notes of gin with the fragrant and lightly sweet essence of elderflower, balanced by the tartness of fresh lemon juice and the subtle sweetness of simple syrup. Topped with club soda, it becomes a light, effervescent cocktail that's perfect for warm weather or any time you crave a refreshing sip.

The history of the Collins cocktail dates back to the 19th century and is often attributed to John Collins, a headwaiter at Limmer's Hotel in London. Over the years, the Tom Collins became a staple in cocktail culture, spawning numerous variations. The Elderflower Collins is one such modern adaptation, capitalizing on the rising popularity of elderflower liqueur in the cocktail scene. This contemporary take maintains the classic structure of a Collins while introducing a floral component that appeals to modern palates, offering a delightful balance of sweet, sour, and botanical flavors.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Collins Glass, though any glass works!
