About French Zombie

The Zombie #4 is a vibrant and tropical cocktail that embodies the essence of a classic tiki drink with its layered flavors and colorful presentation. This cocktail is a variation of the original Zombie, a famous concoction that emerged from the tiki bar culture of the mid-20th century. The drink features a combination of light rum and an additional half-ounce of another rum, creating a robust and potent base. Creme de Noyaux adds a nutty, almond-like sweetness, while triple sec brings a hint of citrusy orange flavor. The sour mix and orange juice contribute a refreshing tartness and fruity zest, balancing out the cocktail and making it a perfect summer punch.

The Zombie drink has its roots in the 1930s, created by Donn Beach, the founder of the tiki bar movement, at his Don the Beachcomber restaurant in Hollywood. It gained notoriety for its strong yet smooth profile, designed to transport drinkers to a tropical paradise. The Zombie #4 is one of many iterations that surfaced over the years, each adding its own twist to the potent original. This version maintains the spirit of the Zombie by blending multiple rums and fruit flavors, making it a festive and exotic choice for parties and social gatherings.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Collins Glass, though any glass works!
