About Grateful Dead #2

The Grateful Dead #2 is a vibrant and potent cocktail that is part of the family of drinks inspired by the Long Island Iced Tea. This concoction combines equal parts of vodka, rum, gin, triple sec, and raspberry liqueur, resulting in a complex and fruity flavor profile. The inclusion of raspberry liqueur distinguishes it from its Long Island counterpart, providing a sweeter and more berry-forward taste. The drink is balanced with a tart and tangy sour mix, and finished with a refreshing splash of lemon-lime soda or 7-up, adding effervescence and a hint of citrus.

The Grateful Dead #2 likely draws its name from the iconic rock band, evoking the free-spirited and eclectic nature of their music. Just as the band was known for its improvisational style and eclectic influences, this cocktail brings together a medley of spirits and flavors. While the exact origins of the drink are unclear, it has become popular in bars and parties, celebrated for its bold taste and the vibrant purple hue created by the raspberry liqueur. Like many cocktails with similar bases, it is best enjoyed responsibly, given its high alcohol content and the blending of multiple spirits.

This punch or party drink is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Highball Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
