Alcoholic Cocktail Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass 5 ingredients

Recipe

  • 1/2 oz Zen Green Tea Liqueur
  • 1 oz Hendrick Gin
  • 1 Marmalade
  • 1 tbsp Lime Juice
  • 3 tbsp Water

Instructions

This was inspired by the breakfast cocktails containing Gin and Marmalade, and in some variations Green Tea. Because I received a bottle of Zen Green Tea liquor with little idea how to use it (and I love mixing stuff together), I decided to substitute this instead of regular Green Tea.Put all of the above in a shaker, shake, and then server over ice. Be sure to strain out the extra Marmalade piece so they are not in the finished drink. If Sour Mix is available substitute that instead of Lime concentrate. Enjoy!

About Jolly Good Zen

The Jolly Good Zen cocktail is a delightful fusion of flavors that brings together the refreshing, herbal notes of Zen Green Tea Liqueur with the crisp, floral qualities of Hendrick's Gin. The unique combination creates a harmonious and sophisticated drink that is both invigorating and calming. The addition of marmalade introduces a subtle sweetness and slight bitterness, which complements the tangy lime juice. A touch of water helps to mellow the intensity, ensuring a smooth and balanced cocktail experience.

While the Jolly Good Zen doesn't have a long-established history, it draws inspiration from the growing trend of incorporating tea and botanical elements into cocktails. Zen Green Tea Liqueur, with its delicate and aromatic profile, pairs perfectly with the cucumber and rose notes of Hendrick's Gin, making it a modern choice for those seeking something both comforting and innovative. This cocktail is ideal for afternoon gatherings or as a refreshing pre-dinner drink, celebrating the perfect blend of Eastern and Western influences in a glass.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
