About Pimms Liqueur

Pimm's Liqueur is a quintessentially British cocktail known for its refreshing and complex flavors, making it a popular choice during the summer months, particularly at social events like garden parties and sporting occasions such as Wimbledon. The drink is traditionally based on a spirit called Pimm's No. 1, created by James Pimm in the 1840s. Originally served as a health tonic, Pimm's No. 1 is a gin-based liqueur enriched with a secret blend of herbs, spices, and fruit extracts, giving it a distinctive, slightly spiced and citrusy taste. The cocktail combines this liqueur with gin, soda (usually lemon-lime), and garnishes of lemon and cucumber twists, resulting in a vibrant and invigorating drink that balances sweet, tart, and herbal notes.

The history of Pimm's began when James Pimm, the owner of an oyster bar in London, devised the original Pimm's No. 1 as a digestive aid for his patrons. Its popularity swiftly grew, and by the late 19th century, it was being bottled for wider distribution. Over the years, various versions of Pimm's were created, each based on a different spirit, but the No. 1 Cup remains the most iconic. Today, Pimm's Liqueur is celebrated for its versatility and refreshing nature, often enjoyed in the company of friends and family during warm weather, symbolizing the leisurely charm of British summer traditions.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Highball Glass, though any glass works!
