About Tavern Tea

The Tavern Tea is a vibrant and potent cocktail that brings together a delightful mix of spirits and flavors, reminiscent of a Long Island Iced Tea but with its own unique twist. This cocktail combines the zesty kick of lemon-flavored rum, the clean neutrality of vodka, the citrusy sweetness of orange liqueur, and the botanical complexity of gin. These spirits are harmoniously balanced with the tart and tangy notes of sweet and sour mix, creating a refreshing base that is lightly carbonated with a splash of Coca Cola. The Coca Cola not only adds a touch of sweetness but also imparts a subtle cola flavor that rounds out the drink, giving it a smooth finish.

The Tavern Tea likely draws inspiration from the classic Long Island Iced Tea, a popular cocktail that similarly mixes multiple spirits with a cola top. While the exact origins of Tavern Tea are not well-documented, it reflects the American tradition of innovating and personalizing cocktails by tweaking existing recipes. As with many cocktails born in bars and taverns, it offers a lively combination of flavors that cater to those seeking both strength and refreshment in their drink. Perfect for social gatherings, this cocktail is a testament to the creativity and adaptability of cocktail culture.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Highball Glass, though any glass works!
