Alcoholic Shot Snifter 3 ingredients

Recipe

  • 1 oz Sambuca
  • 1 oz Tequila
  • 2 - 3 dashes Hot Sauce

Instructions

The Canadian Snake Bite originated in Montreal at the beginning of a bachelor party which finished in New York City. It was introduced to a couple of bartenders in NYC and it became popular like a Flaming Mo from the Simpsons.Pour the Sambuca into a Brandy snifter and the Tequila seperately into a rocks or old-fashioned glass. Add a couple dashes of Hot Sauce to the glass with Tequila. Roll the Sambuca around the snifter (like a cement mixer), ignite, and allow to burn for a second or two. Pour the Sambuca into the Tequila rocks glass and cap it with the Brandy snifter so as to extinguish the flames. This should form some smoke within the glasses. Carefully lift the snifter and inhale the fumes, then pound the Tequila and Sambuca mixture. Packs a pretty good wallop.

About Canadian Snake Bite

The Canadian Snake Bite is a bold and adventurous shot, perfect for those who enjoy a drink with a bit of a kick. This intriguing concoction combines the herbal and anise-flavored notes of Sambuca with the robust and fiery character of Tequila. The addition of a few dashes of hot sauce adds an unexpected, spicy twist, creating a unique blend of flavors that dance on the palate. The smooth, licorice-like sweetness of the Sambuca tempers the intensity of the tequila, while the hot sauce provides a fiery finish that lingers, making this shot both memorable and exhilarating.

The origins of the Canadian Snake Bite are somewhat elusive, as is the case with many cocktail creations. It's likely a playful twist on the traditional Snakebite, which is a beer and cider mix, but with a distinctly North American and fiery flair. The name "Canadian Snake Bite" might evoke the rugged, adventurous spirit often associated with Canada, reflecting a drink that is daring and bold. Whether enjoyed as a daring start to a night out or a thrilling end to an evening, this shot embodies a sense of adventure and fun.

This shot is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Snifter, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
